|Long Description||Much has changed in US politics since the historic 2008 election. While the press covers the actions and agendas of the new administration, other impacts of this political shift have not received as much attention. These changes have forced the nation to rethink the necessary role of government, the role of the private market, the impact of science, technology, and information, and, ultimately, our place in the world.|
What Do We Expect From Our Government? provides a glimpse at this set of developments by focusing on a number of policies, such as climate change, immigration, and terrorism, as well as governance processes such as oversight, elections and campaigns, and regulation. It highlights the role of research in public sector decision-making, the role of the academy, the relationship between economic imperatives and scientific information, and dealing with uncertainty and change. In addition, it includes attention to broader issues such as national economic and fiscal policies and strategies for assuring equity and access in programs.

Over the past few months, we have been making some very big changes to the site. You have already seen some of the cosmetic changes but the bulk of the changes have been behind the scenes.
The biggest changes have all happened on the database side of things. We have changed the way we collect, review and display the information for each product.
Although most people won't care about the changes that happen in the background, some of those changes also come with updates to the user interface beyond simple cosmetics.
We hope to have the new version out to the public in the next few weeks and by the end of this year for sure. But we would like to offer a few users the opportunity to try out the new site in the testing environment.
Basically, we would like a few people to just play around in the test area and if something isn't working as expected, just let us know.
If this is something you might be interested in, please contact us. We will set up a user account for you and then you can test.
Just keep in mind, as people are testing, we will continue to make improvements so the test site may change a little from day to day.
