|Long Description||How can we help African American and Latino students perform better in the classroom and on exams? In Keepin' It Real: School Success Beyond Black and White , Prudence Carter argues that what is needed is a broader recognition of the unique cultural styles and practices that non-white students bring to the classroom. Based on extensive interviews and surveys of students in New York, she demonstrates that the most successful negotiators of our school systems are the multicultural navigators, culturally savvy teens who draw from multiple traditions, whether it be knowledge of hip hop or of classical music, to achieve their high ambitions.|

Over the past few months, we have been making some very big changes to the site. You have already seen some of the cosmetic changes but the bulk of the changes have been behind the scenes.
The biggest changes have all happened on the database side of things. We have changed the way we collect, review and display the information for each product.
Although most people won't care about the changes that happen in the background, some of those changes also come with updates to the user interface beyond simple cosmetics.
We hope to have the new version out to the public in the next few weeks and by the end of this year for sure. But we would like to offer a few users the opportunity to try out the new site in the testing environment.
Basically, we would like a few people to just play around in the test area and if something isn't working as expected, just let us know.
If this is something you might be interested in, please contact us. We will set up a user account for you and then you can test.
Just keep in mind, as people are testing, we will continue to make improvements so the test site may change a little from day to day.
