Long DescriptionThe term film noir, French for black film, was first applied to Hollywood films in 1946 and is generally regarded as extending from the early 1940s to the late 1950s. Film noir of this era is associated with a low-key black-and-white visual style that has roots in German Expressionist cinematography. Most of the stories and much of the attitude of classic noir derive from the school of crime fiction that emerged in the United States during the Great Depression. Restored in HD from the Original Film Prints, included in this 6 DVD double Collector s Set package is the thrilling The Red House , Frank Sinatra s Suddenly , a film noir gem Kansas City Confidential , the brilliant Pitfall featuring Dick Powell , Jane Wyatt and Lizabeth Scott , The Stranger featuring Edward G. Robinson and The Strange Love of Martha Ivers with Barbara Stanwyck , Van Heflin and Lizabeth Scott . All classic, all noir!

Royal Mail 4-State Customer Code is used for the Royal Mail Cleanmail service. It enables UK postcodes as well as Delivery Point Suffixes (DPSs) to be easily read by a machine at high speed.

Each character is made up of 4 bars, 2 of which extend upward, and 2 of which extend downward. The combination of the top and bottom halves gives 36 possible symbols: 10 digits and 26 letters.

As the example right shows, the barcode consists of a start character, the postcode, the Delivery Point Suffix (DPS), a checksum character, and a stop character. The DPS is a two-character code ranging from 1A to 9T, with codes 9U to 9Z being accepted as default codes when no DPS has been allocated
